Chioma, Macomb
“My issue started when I applied for EAD card through the USCIS. I waited for almost 3 months for the card in question to arrive my destination. My colleagues at school whom I applied before them had gotten theirs. I became so worried, so I decided to call the USCIS and only then did I discover the error in my house address. Everything about the address was correct except that my apartment number which was #201 was written 20 by whom I don’t know. I applied for a change of address and was assured this time that my card would arrive. I waited for another 3 months and this time around, the card arrived at Peoria instead of Macomb. This became my greatest nightmare, because being an international student on an F1 visa, it was most difficult to work without an EAD card. It was at this time that I contacted the Congressman Eric. Sorensen’s office for help and I was assured they would intervene in my horrible situation. Eventually, the feedback I got from Congressman Eric Sorensen’s office that helped solve my problem. They informed me that my card was to be re-mailed which alerted me to call the USCIS for a tracking number. The tracking number directed me to date of delivery and to my greatest joy, I have my card today. I want to use the opportunity to thank you immensely for helping me out in my case.”
