Congressman Sorensen Advocates for Rock Island Arsenal During Armed Services Committee Hearing

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) testified in front of the House Armed Services Committee this week to advocate for resources for Rock Island Arsenal, including expansions of public-private partnerships, investment in 3D printing technologies, and support for the Arsenal's workforce.
“I am always proud to advocate for my neighbors at Rock Island Arsenal as a member of the House Armed Services Committee,” said Congressman Sorensen. “This week, I pressed Army leadership on ways that we can continue to modernize the Arsenal, support good-paying jobs, and make the Quad Cities a central defense, technology, and manufacturing hub.”

Congressman Eric Sorensen represents Illinois’ 17th District in the United States House of Representatives. Prior to serving in Congress, Sorensen was a local meteorologist in Rockford and the Quad Cities for more than 20 years. His district includes Illinois’ Quad Cities, Rockford, Peoria, and Bloomington-Normal.
