Congressman Sorensen Statement on Trump’s Threats Against Iran

WASHINGTON, DC— Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17), member of the House Armed Services Committee, released the following statement in response to President Trump’s threats against Iran: 

“Donald Trump promised to lower costs and end foreign wars. Voters took him at his word. But instead, he is threatening a level of conflict in the Middle East that would be catastrophic and irreversible.  

“An escalating war in Iran would cause so much pain and suffering, a new threat for our troops, and the threat of $5 or $6 gas back home.

“I will be returning to Washington D.C. this week and call on Speaker Johnson to bring the House to order so we can end this nightmare. We only need a few House Republicans to stand up and do the right thing.  

“There’s no time to spare.”
