PEORIA, IL – Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) is announcing $683,301 to help treat substance use disorders and support mental health needs in Central Illinois.
“We all know someone who’s struggled with addiction, whether it’s a friend, family member, or neighbor,” said Sorensen. “Which is why I’m proud to announce grant funding for our communities that will help people recover from substance abuse and save lives.”
"At Chestnut Health Systems’ Lighthouse Institute, our team has dedicated decades to assisting individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. Through extensive community-based research and ongoing collaboration with clinical partners, we've pioneered innovative approaches to support recovery,” said Michael L. Dennis, the Director of Chestnut Health System’s Lighthouse Institute. “Our commitment involves actively involving individuals with lived experience, enriching our programs and strategies. Furthermore, we're dedicated to securing funding, ensuring the sustainability and growth of these crucial initiatives, maximizing their impact on our communities."
