Sorensen Comments on Attending Jimmy Carter’s Funeral

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) attended today’s funeral for former President Jimmy Carter at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. He released the following statement:

"It was an honor to be seated at the funeral of President Carter. Having leaders from both sides of the aisle, including all five living Presidents, is a reminder that we should put differences aside to acknowledge our shared values—values that President Carter embodied through his service and compassion for others.

Today, I’m honored to represent Illinois, paying my respects at our National Cathedral, expressing my gratitude for our nation’s 39^th President, James Earl Carter.
