Sorensen to Host Town Hall, Discuss Efforts to Lower Costs for Neighbors

MOLINE, IL – On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 6:30 PM CT, Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) will host a town hall with residents of Illinois’ 17th Congressional District. Constituents will be allowed to participate over the phone, and a recording of the event will be made available afterward. 

Sorensen has invited State Representative Sharon Chung who represents the 91st District in the Illinois General Assembly, which covers portions of McLean, Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties and Mayor Tom McNamara of Rockford to join the call and talk about the work they are doing to lower costs and fight inflation.

HOW:  

 To participate in Congressman Sorensen’s town hall, dial 833-380-0743 at any point during the event. 

During the call, Sorensen will speak directly to residents of Central and Northwestern Illinois about the bipartisan work he is doing in Congress to serve his neighbors. In addition, Sorensen will address issues his constituents care about most, including lowering costs for families, creating sustainable, good-paying jobs, and making communities safer and healthier. 

The telephone town hall format will allow Congressman Sorensen to be more accessible to his nearly 750,000 constituents spread out over 14 counties and 6,933 square miles. 

Congressman Eric Sorensen serves on the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. Prior to serving in Congress, Sorensen was a local meteorologist in Rockford and the Quad Cities for nearly 20 years. His district includes Illinois’ Quad Cities, Rockford, Peoria, and Bloomington-Normal.
