Sorensen Statement on Apparent Assassination Attempt Against Former President Trump

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) released the following statement in response to an apparent assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump: 

“I am relieved that President Trump is okay after an apparent assassination attempt in West Palm Beach, Florida today.

Thanks to technology and quick action by law enforcement, the suspect was taken into custody swiftly. While we learn the motivations of this case, it’s important we stop the political divisiveness that causes people to react with dangerous intent.

And let me be clear, political violence has no place in the United States of America.”
