WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) spoke on the House Armed Services Committee about the importance of the Peoria Air National Guard and the need for additional funding and resources to carry out the Air Forces’ plan to stand up a Contingency Response Group in Central Illinois.
"I am incredibly proud to represent the men and women working the 182nd Airlift Wing in Peoria and was thrilled that the Air Force decided to stand up a Contingency Response Group that would ensure our Guardsmen and women can respond quickly in a crisis. However, we need to make sure that proper funding is coming back to Peoria to ensure the 182nd Contingency Response Group is staffed and mission-ready. Today, I was proud to advocate on behalf of the Peoria Air National Guard for that funding in the House Armed Services Committee,” said Congressman Eric Sorensen.
