Sorensen Joins Children's Safe Harbor to Highlight Efforts to Support Victims of Domestic Abuse

On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) hosted a press conference with Children’s Safe Harbor in Rockford and local leaders to highlight $600,000 in federal funding awarded to the region over three years to protect victims of domestic violence and hold offenders accountable in Northern Illinois.

Sorensen said in a statement: "I’m proud to stand with the Department of Justice to announce critical funding being awarded to local law enforcement to offer additional support to survivors and their families and ensure justice is properly carried out,” said Sorensen. “I will always be an advocate at the federal level to ensure our court systems have the resources they need to better serve our communities.”
