Sorensen Takes Action to Extend Affordable Connectivity Program
April 10, 2024
On Friday, April 5, 2024, Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) hosted a roundtable discussion at Carl Sandburg College with local leaders and broadband providers to discuss the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).
The ACP connects 1 in 5 households in Illinois' 17th Congressional District to internet access. "This is not a red problem, it's not a blue problem. It's a problem that exists in every district," said Sorensen.
Sorensen is a cosponsor of the bipartisan Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act, which would fund the program for the tens of thousands of households in Central and Northwestern Illinois that rely on it.
