Sorensen on WREX: We Need to Work in a Bipartisan Way to Pass a Farm Bill for Northern Illinois Ag

On Wednesday, August 22, 2024, WREX Channel 13 in Rockford reported on the status of the Farm Bill, which sets national agriculture policy for the next five years.

Sorensen, member of the House Agriculture Committee, submitted the following comment on the bill's status:

“As someone who wasn't a career politician before coming to Congress, it's frustrating to see the Farm Bill delayed while our family farmers tell me how important it is. I was one of just four in my party to vote the Farm Bill out of the House Agriculture Committee because I listened to our farmers and knew we had to move forward. We need to stop stalling, come together across party lines, and get this done for our farmers and rural communities."
