WQAD TV-8: Monmouth receiving nearly $1M for lead pipe replacements

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, $1M to replace lead service lines in Monmouth was signed into law. Sorensen secured the investment, as well as 11 other investments for projects in Central and Northwestern Illinois, as part of the community project funding process.
"We certainly appreciate Congressman Sorensen’s efforts on our behalf,” said Monmouth Mayor Rod Davies in his interview with WQAD. “He visited Monmouth and saw what is involved with replacing each of those lines and it is a significant opportunity for us to begin this project. And it will certainly help us get a number of these lines started.”
