ROCKFORD, IL – Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) are announcing $218,000 for OSF HealthCare to expand telehealth services to families in rural communities across Central and Northern Illinois.

Sorensen’s advocacy on this issue is in direct response to roundtable discussions and meetings he has hosted with law enforcement from across Central and Northwestern Illinois.

FREEPORT, IL – Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) and the Department of Transporation (DOT) are announcing $400,000 for the City of Freeport to study way the community can increase traffic safety.
“Bringing tax dollars back home to invest in infrastructure is one of the best ways we can make our neighborhoods safer and more sustainable,” said Sorensen. “I’m proud to join the Department of Transportation to announce this critical investment that will help Freeport improve its roads and protect drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.”
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) reiterated his call to restore the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) after its expiration at the end of April. The ACP provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible families. One in five households in Illinois’ 17th Congressional District relied on it for internet service.
