Sorensen, LaHood Urges Postal Service to Protect Jobs in Peoria

PEORIA, IL – Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) and Congressman Darin LaHood (IL-16) are calling on the United States Postal Service (USPS) to protect jobs at USPS’s Peoria Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC). In a letter sent to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, Sorensen and LaHood question USPS’s consideration of moving these jobs to the South Suburban P&DC in Bedford Park, Illinois which will hurt working families and may increase delivery times for residents.

Congressman and Democratic candidate Eric Sorensen hosted a veteran roundtable at Rockford’s Veterans Memorial Hall today. 

Organizations like Veterans Affairs, the Veteran Drop-in Center and the Veteran Assistance Commission discussed better ways to serve veterans in the area. 

One of the main topics was the actual definition of a veteran, especially what it means for those in the National Guard or Reserves.
