ROCKFORD, IL – Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) praised Stellantis’ announcement today that it will honor its commitment to bring 1,500 union jobs to the Belvidere Assembly Plant for the production of new mid-size trucks.

The move follows Sorensen’s efforts, along with other state and federal leaders, in supporting United Auto Workers (UAW) members as they secured an agreement to bring new jobs to the plant.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) today announced his appointment to the House Armed Services Committee for the 119th Congress, along with assignments to two critical subcommittees: the Subcommittee on Readiness and the Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces.

These roles enhance Sorensen's ability to advocate for the Rock Island Arsenal and Peoria Air National Guard Base—two cornerstones of Illinois’ 17th District.
